For my grandchildren

I wrote this in the middle of the Covid Pandemic. I shouldn’t have been concerned. They came to visit us yesterday and we hugged and squealed with laughter. As the time goes on they will forget what it was like, and I will be glad.

Will you remember who I am
after all this Hullabaloo,
will you let me hold your hand
just like you used to do?

Can I whisper in your ear
tell you stories or two,
walk down the street together
Just like we used to do?

Will you want to come and stay
as you often used to do,
or will you insist I stand
6 feet away from you?

How long will it take to remember
the fun I had with you,
to go back how it was together
after all this Hullabaloo?
